Pr Awa Marie Coll-Seck
State Minister, President of the National Committeeof the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative
Pr Awa Marie Coll-Seck is the President of the National Committee of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative. From 2001 to 2003 and again from 2012 to 2017, she has served as the Minister of Health of the Republic of Senegal. From September 2017 to April 2019, she has served as Minister of State to the President of Senegal. She received the ‘Best Minister Award’ during the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai in 2017. Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the University of Dakar, she served as Chief of Service for Infectious Diseases at the University Hospital in Dakar before she started her international career. From 1996 to 2001, she served as a Director at the Joint United Nations Programme for HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) at its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Then she served as Executive Director of The Roll Back Malaria (RBM) Partnership from 2004 to 2011. Pr Awa Marie Coll-Seck is married, has 4 children and she is a grand-mother.
