Feedback on the 4th edition of EVE Asia-Pacific

Eve, Le Blog Social Impact

EVE is an international seminar, and has been offering an Asia Pacific edition in Shanghai since 2014. We take a look back on this highlight for the EVE community, which once again exemplified the universal character of our motto “Be yourself and unleash your potential”.

EVE essentials

The participants of EVE Asia 2017, like every attendee of an EVE Program, were lucky enough to benefit from training on “centered leadership” given by Joanna Barsh.  As a cornerstone of our leadership program, this internationally renowned speaker brings a new vision of how we understand and bear responsibilities, and presents the keys to the art of balance, both for yourself and in your relationships with others.

Inspirations for stronger leadership that can bring about change

Participants at EVE Asia 2017 were able to look at this approach to stronger and more balanced leadership in more detail, with a view to forging change makers, during several plenary sessions and workshops. A leading specialist in negotiation and conflict management, Alain Lempereur; Australian expedition leader Rachael Robertson; Jane Horan, an expert on business policy, non-violent communication expert Anissa Vermeil de Conchard, and public speaking specialist John Miers, shared their knowledge and experience with an audience who were left captivated by the values and management techniques of the future.

Testimonies that say it all

The 5th EVE Asia Pacific seminar was also an opportunity for more than 100 local managers and directors to hear testimonies from women who dare and who strive to change things on a day-to-day basis, in their everyday experiences. From Danielle Jin, Marketing Director of Visa in China to Zahrah Zaid, Consultant in Cultural Transformations, Eva Yu, President & Managing Director L’Oreal Hong Kong, the feedback on the experiences of these leaders of the new world had the “role model effect” that EVE values so highly: when imagining yourself living out the experiences of another person stimulates your own ambition to make changes.

Enchanted participants, a bigger community of enlightened leaders.

Beyond the quality of the presentations, which inspired some people to completely overhaul their careers,  participants left the three-day event given over to inspiration and respiration with new strength, empowered by the atmosphere of demanding benevolence that nurtures the EVE community throughout the year.  Once again, these instigators of change learned how to get to know each other better.

“This program makes me want to be a better person.”

“What inspired me was being surrounded by so many incredible women from all over Asia who actually share my experiences!”

“This program is designed for both women and men. Participants are all treated in the same way, as real leaders.”

“I found the whole program incredible, there were excellent speakers and a well-designed schedule. This leadership seminar is much better than the other programs I’ve attended in the past! As a man, I encourage companies to train more employees on this issue, I think that leads to more engaged discussions.”
